Easy Peasy Homemade Autumn Wreath

Autumn wreaths are the thing to have this year, I feel like all Instagrammers have such beautiful ones hanging off their front doors and it makes such a cute change to your normal Christmas one.
Last year I couldn't stomach paying the prices of one - shops know we all want them I swear so whack the prices up knowing we will pay it just for the IG - so this time round I decided to have a go at making one myself.

I am not the world craftiest person so I'm sure theres things I could have done a bit neater or a bit better but for me I am pretty damn pleased with the end result - and the whole thing was so super cheap and easy to make.

I didn't look at any Pinterest ideas because I just wanted to use what I already had and what I could afford and the internet can be a dangerous place when searching of new craft ideas...you end up spending more on making it than the price of buying one!

To make it I bought a polystryne ring, wrapped the whole thing in brown string followed by a garland of Autumn leaves and a few pine cones - quite literally as easy as that. To keep all the leaves in place I used gold pins as glue wasn't holding too well but being gold they blend in super well.

I loooove how my wreath turned out and it took me no longer than an hour to make, and all the bits were under £10 in total - perfect!

Polystryne ring - £1.99
String £2.50
Leaf garland - £4.99
Pines cones - picked up from outside!

Have you made any Autumn home decor this year?

Embracing Autumn

I am not here to do a gushy 'long time no see, its been a year since my last blog post' statement because meh, I guess I've had nothing to write about...maybe I still don't but my love for writing has not gone astray - and I love reading about other peoples lives as much as I like documenting my own so I am going to try and update here on a regular basis, my online Pensieve. (*wink to fellow Potterheads).

I've tried my very best to give my blog a little seasonal makeover as well as trying to keep it to my minimalistic - and probably a bit plain and boring - style. I just love all the white and nude decor I can't help iiitttt.
Will I ever figure out the correct sizing for a header that actually fits all the way across the top of your screen? Probably not.

Bloggers, Instagrammers around the world - our time of year is finally here. We can breath a sigh of relief because FINALLY we can upload all the photos of our cute boots and mustard skirts standing in the post perfect pile of leaves (whilst sucking in as much as we can as too not get that little bit of belly roll we all have standing at an awkward angle taking a downwards shot of our hips and legs - just me?), plus all the cosy hot chocolate shots and Costa cups are back in season, Primark knitwear is calling and all is at peace with the world.

Every year August rolls into September, I wipe the last bit of Summer sweat off my top lip, shove my one hot weather outfit to the back of my wardrobe, put every jumper I own onto my body and embrace Autumn with open arms - its time to be cold, cosy and so very almost festive.

Today I am setting myself goals, like a New Years Resolution - but in September because who on earth is in any mental state after Christmas being over to set themselves achievable life goals - NOT ME my brain is 90% Quality Street chocolates by then.

SO Dear Molly here are some things to try and do in the hopefully very near future...

.  Grown your hair to nice longish healthy length - skanky split ends do not count as length (*cries)

. Taken the plunge and treated yourself to Baylage - and just generally stop box dying at home (your split ends may just not be so split anymore)

. Bought that personalised replica of the Harry Potter trunk on the 9 3/4 website (trust me this will improve your life by 10000000%)

. Got your savings to a respectable amount...by respectable I mean stop dipping into them every month to buy new clothes (but those cute Autumn boots are worth it tbh)

. MOST IMPORTANTLY please find yourself a decent job - one that pays well would be IDEAL.

What gets you the most excited for Autumn?
