Winter Break - Forest Holiday 2016

I'm back!
Phew.
Most of the houses - unfortunately including my own -  in the village where I live has been deprived of internet for the past week and a half, so I've been feeling pretty cut off from the in the internet world.
Having a social-media detox has been quite nice and refreshing though, it got to the point where I stopped checking my phone every couple of minutes because I knew there wouldn't be notifications, (as living in the middle of nowhere also means theres no phone signal for 3G internet either!).
The internet still isn't back but our extremely nice neighbour whose super fast and up to date internet hasn't been effected has lent us his WiFi password so we are temporarily back on the internet woohoo!

If any of you follow me on Twitter (@mloggee) or Instagram (@riddikulus___) you would have seen my few updates whilst I was away on a short winter break with my boyfriend in the forest.
It was the most relaxing and anti-social five days of my life and we were both in great need of it.

When we decided we wanted a short break, a cabin in the middle of a forest was the setting we knew we wanted. I took to Google to search for 'nearby forest holidays' and within the hour we had chosen a holiday source, forest, a cabin and a date then the entire thing was booked and ready to go - easy peasy!

The forest itself was located in Liskeard Cornwall, and after a two hour drive we reached the long winding driveway that took us down into the woods and to the beautiful lake surrounded by cute little wooden cabins.
I literally sat in the passenger seat of the car and watched the 3G disappear from my phone and the signal go down and down until eventually I had no service as we got closer to the cabins and it was quite a peaceful and free feeling to know that nobody could get hold of us.

We checked in and got given our key to Cabin 30 and made our way to cabin which was up higher looking down over trees and the lake.

A hot tub was sat on the patio near the front door which was up and ready for use - complete with a little yellow rubber duck.

The cabin inside was everything we wanted it to be - cute and cosy!
The downstairs area had a spare twin bedroom and a bathroom on the first little corridor which then lead into the big open main area which made up the kitchen, dining room and living room. The whole back wall was one large window which went straight up to the ceiling complete with a sliding door onto the patio where a BBQ and a bench sat. This meant you could see the trees outside all around you wherever you went in the cabin, giving it that proper forest feeling.

The upstairs looked over the downstairs which made the cabin feel so much bigger and open.
It just consisted of the bedroom with on-suite bathroom and it was super cosy.

We spent the days we had on the break exploring the towns around the area, chilling in the hot tub and just relaxing and enjoying the fact that we didn't have to do anything or be anywhere!

The forest was beautiful and we spent our last afternoon walking through, appreciating how quiet and peaceful it all was, taking a few photos.

It was an amazing place to stay and we would definitely go back, in fact we're already looking into booking another Forest Holiday at a different location - eeek!
